Founders Tuk & Talk
Booking & consumer information

Important: provider arrangements are being finalised
David Fischer operates this website and coordinates Founders Tuk & Talk events. His own RNAAT registration has not been confirmed. A possible arrangement with a separately registered tour company is under review; no company is identified here as the confirmed provider.
Before a paid booking is accepted, the contracting supplier, actual ride provider, applicable registration numbers, insurance and respective responsibilities must be confirmed and disclosed. Do not pay if that information has not been supplied. A registered business activity, cooperation partner or another company's registration does not by itself establish permission to organise or sell a ride.
This page describes the advertised booking conditions. It is not a licence, legal clearance, or confirmation of unresolved provider arrangements; those arrangements must be settled before sales start.
1. Your contact and contracting information
Website operator and event organiser: David Fischer, NIF 307532402, Monte Sobral, Caminho Municipal 1186, Caixa Postal 8025, 7630-592 São Miguel - São Teotónio, Portugal. Email: david@founderstukandtalk.com.
The role of any separately contracted ride company, who issues your invoice and who receives payment must be set out in your booking offer before payment. A provider's own conditions must be made available before you agree to them. The LDA named in the Imprint is a networking cooperation partner only, not the website operator.
2. Requests, reservations and payment
An application or enquiry is not a confirmed tour or guaranteed seat. Gastronomical, DJ, team and other quoted arrangements require written agreement on availability, price, inclusions and provider before booking. Investor applications are free; only approved founders receive payment invitations for an investor-confirmed departure.
Check your ride, passenger count, date, Lisbon local time, pickup, destination and final euro total before payment. Tour prices and any pickup fees are shown in the booking flow; the final checkout total, including applicable taxes and any accepted discount code, must be clear before you authorise payment. No additional service is included unless expressly stated in your offer.
An unpaid booking holds availability for 30 minutes only. A card authorisation or successful payment does not waive the founder departure conditions below. Request written confirmation containing the supplier/provider details, booking summary and applicable conditions; a form submission alone is not that confirmation.
3. Founder departure conditions
- Founders Tuk & Talk requires at least three paying guests per tuk, with at most four guests, paid 120 minutes before departure.
- Founder & Investor rides require one committed investor and three paying founders; all three founder seats must be paid 120 minutes before departure. Investors ride free.
- If the minimum is not reached, we offer another departure with your agreement or a full refund. If the investor cancels, the same agreed-switch or full-refund choice applies.
- Your departure is never changed without your agreement. Stage, sector and interests help shape groups where possible; matching, fundraising, investment and introductions to a particular industry are not guaranteed.
4. Cancellation, transfers and refunds
The website's advertised policy is free cancellation up to 48 hours before your ride. After that, you can transfer your seat to a colleague; contact David to arrange the change and provide only the necessary replacement details. A cancellation within 48 hours is not covered by the advertised free-cancellation offer, but mandatory consumer rights and the organiser-cancellation protections remain unaffected.
To cancel, email david@founderstukandtalk.com with your booking reference and departure details. Contact us as soon as possible if you are delayed or cannot attend. Do not assume a cancellation is recorded merely because a message was sent to a social account.
Where a full refund is due, it concerns the amount paid for the affected ride. Stripe refunds are handled through the booking's payment process, not by directly changing its status. Your bank's processing time may vary; ask David for confirmation of the refund. These conditions do not exclude any compensation or remedy required by law.
5. Safety, weather and service changes
Routes, stops and venue access depend on safe operating conditions, traffic, opening hours and the actual provider's assessment. Follow the driver’s safety instructions. Confirm accessibility and passenger requirements with the provider before booking; do not assume the vehicle is wheelchair-accessible.
If heavy rain or another safety issue prevents your ride, an alternative departure requires your agreement, or you receive a full refund. A material change to the agreed service should be explained to you rather than silently substituted. Provider conditions cannot remove mandatory rights or exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Venue entry, meals, drinks, event tickets and extras are included only where the offer expressly says so. Gastronomical tour food and drinks are excluded. A side-event drop-off does not include admission or guarantee entry. Any included alcohol remains subject to applicable law and venue rules.
Cleaning fee for spilled food or drinks
If a passenger spills food or drinks inside the tuk-tuk and this leaves the vehicle soiled and requiring additional cleaning, that passenger must pay a fixed cleaning fee of €20. The fee is payable directly to the driver in cash before the passenger leaves the tuk-tuk. It does not apply to ordinary use or normal wear and tear.
The driver must explain the reason for the charge and provide a receipt for payment. This clause does not limit your statutory consumer rights or your right to dispute a charge.
6. Statutory withdrawal rights
For a leisure service supplied on a specific date or period, the usual 14-day distance-contract withdrawal right may be excluded under Article 17(1)(k) of Portuguese Decreto-Lei 24/2014. Whether this exception applies must be confirmed for the actual contract and disclosed before payment. It is not a blanket waiver: where the exception does not apply, statutory withdrawal rights remain available.
The advertised 48-hour cancellation policy and full-refund protections above are separate from statutory withdrawal. Rights concerning non-performance, unsafe services and other mandatory consumer protections remain intact.
7. Complaints and consumer dispute resolution
Send a service complaint to david@founderstukandtalk.com, stating the booking reference, what happened and the remedy requested. This contact route does not replace a statutory complaints book or your right to contact authorities.
The responsible business's electronic complaints-book registration/link and the competent consumer alternative-dispute-resolution entity are not yet confirmed. Those business-specific details must be supplied before sales begin; the general Livro de Reclamações portal is provided for information only, not as proof of registration.
No exclusive court clause or compulsory waiver of consumer rights is imposed by this page. Applicable mandatory protections, access to competent dispute-resolution bodies and courts remain available. The former EU online dispute-resolution platform has closed and is not used here.
8. Privacy, photography and independence
See our Privacy & cookies notice for use of your information. Booking does not authorise promotional photography, publication of your profile or marketing subscriptions; any required permission must be requested separately. Ask fellow participants before recording or sharing their conversations.
